I am kind of a late bloomer! After retiring from a 35-year career in municipal equipment sales in 2010, I started to work on my woodworking hobby. Through a series of encounters with other artists and being introduced to lasering, my hobby with woodworking turned into a small business focused on laser engraving wooden items. The small business grew and eventually my wife opened a retail gift store in a mall in Albuquerque where we sold the items that I made. We ran the gift store for 7 years until we decided to move to the slow lane and closed it in 2019. We now focus on unique ornaments and wall art selling in select art shows in the Albuquerque area.
The fascination of creating something with a beam of light and a flat piece of wood keeps me excited. Making things that others value and enjoy brings me great satisfaction and pleasure. My goal is to create professional-grade pieces for a variety of tastes and price ranges using the precision and technology of a laser engraving machine. My pieces are created from multiple layers of engraved wood. I color each individual layer by hand and then assemble the layers to create the final piece.
