Kay Richards began her professional career as an artist in 1969. Later after a 15-year hiatus to raise her family and pursue her nursing career, she returned to painting and is now devoting all her time to watercolors, acrylics, oils and collages. She captures the beauty and feeling of each subject with her liberal use of vivid colors bringing uniqueness to her paintings, which reveals her strong ties and personal affection for the Southwest.
Kay is a Signature Member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society and has served on its board in various positions. She has studied at the La Romita School of Art in Umbria, Italy, and The University of New Mexico, attended workshops and classes taught by local and internationally known artists and painted in Spain.
