Janet was introduced to watercolor painting about 20 years ago in a UNM Continuing Education class run by Gale Waddell. Later she took lessons with Dorothy Vorhees followed by lessons form Bud Edmondson and Jae Drummond.
Artist Statement
As a young girl I was attracted to all things in Nature. I loved both plants and animals in equal measure and this love translated into a 35 year career in biological research. I started to dabble in watercolor 20 years ago and found that painting allows the expression of one’s emotions and creativity. It has also opened a wonderful network of other artists soon becoming friends. After some years I realized that my art has changed the way I look at nature.
