Although I enjoy all forms of drawing and sewing, my favorite art mediums are oil, colored pencil and pottery. Abstractions are my favorite way of expression in oils. My abstracts often include designing with yarn and using flexible modeling past for texture. The surface of the canvas helps to dictate the direction of the painting. I also enjoy using colored pencils as they are easy to transport.
I am enjoying the art community in New Mexico and have been here for fifteen years. I have served as president of the Rio Grande Art Association for two years, vice president of the Colored Pencil Society chapter in New Mexico, and past president of Sandia heights Artists.
My paintings have been juried into many shows, including MasterWorks of New Mexico, Encantada, and Colored Pencil exhibitions. I have also been a participant in the Sandia Heights Art Tour for fourteen years.
