Anderson has been a professional photographer for more than 40-years and is also a fine art photographer. For his personalphotography, he specializes in fine art black-and-white street photography, though-provoking imagesexploring dreams, and fine art nudes. As a concert photographer, he has photographed Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Motley Crüe, Willie Nelson, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Rodney Crowell, and more. He has photographed workshops by Elizabeth Opalenik (Imagination & Dreams, Santa Fe Workshops), Joyce Tenneson (Santa Fe Workshops), and was asked by the iconic photographer Lucien Clergue to document his outdoor location nude workshop in Béssége, France, in 2009.
Anderson looks for the unique in a setting, whether it is a portrait or a landscape; something that might force him to “take a step backin order tovisualizethe imagemore clearly.” Working in the same manner in the studio as well as on location, surprise is the most invigorating element of his creative process. No model or location is the same and he feels it is up to him to find that “moment,” that epiphany which captures an image that is both timeless and inspiring.
