Biography
Jon Stone, affectionately known as "Bald Ross," is an Air Force veteran, visual storyteller, and creative mentor. He brings a disciplined yet imaginative approach to his artwork. Residing in Cedar Crest, Jon has embraced the beauty of the Sandia Mountains after a harmonious few years living near the Rio Grande.
As the founder of Veterans Create!, Jon enables creativity in the military community through mentorship and interactive art sessions. Whether hosting “paint and sip” events or helping veteran artists in his community with online social media presence, his mission is to inspire fellow veterans to discover the therapeutic power of creativity.
In addition to his hands-on artistic initiatives, Jon produces entertaining art instructional videos that merge humor and technique, embodying the ethos of making art accessible and enjoyable for all. His work often reflects themes of Beauty, Harmony, and Unity, resonating with audiences from all walks of life.
Artist Statement
Art, to me, is a mirror reflecting expression, spiritualism, and the power of storytelling. My work is rooted in personal experiences, from the structured discipline of military life to the introspective journey of space and time.
I believe art is healing, connecting, inspiring, and self-actualization. Through vibrant colors, resonating compositions, and innovative processes, it is my mission to cultivate a great feeling for a wide audience. Whether guiding another through their first brushstrokes or breakthroughs or collaborating with experts, my purpose is to build community and self-awareness through the act of creative self-expression.
