Shrines are found all over the world. I do not subscribe to one specific religion, but I am inspired by the worldwide connection of people who use a dedicated space to focus their intentions, wishes, remembrances, and prayers.
My creations are inspired by the multi-religious art from Spain, Peru, Italy, Asia, and especially India.
I create my designs with great attention to detail, color, tone, and balance. Each piece takes 12 to 48 hours to develop, and each is one of a kind. I embellish wooden bases with new and found materials, including vintage glass beads, old jewelry, brass, copper, steel, iron, and many other items.
These materials have been cut, bent, filed, hand-painted, antiqued, and meticulously arranged in great detail, creating heartfelt, unusual gifts for yourself or a loved one. Each design is unique and never duplicated. I make my pieces in my studio in Corrales, New Mexico.
