John Gilbert has been an award-winning photographer since 1985. After years working as a portrait photographer, John now devotes most of his time helping other photographers as Director of the Annual New Mexico Photographic Art Shows, which include InSight and Shades of Gray. He also teaches various classes in lighting and Photoshop.
A graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art and Art Institute of Pittsburgh, John has a degree in Advertising design. He uses his artistic skills to create props and backgrounds for his stunning images. He uses live sets or Photoshop to convey his vision of an ever-changing world. Art does not have to be pretty or glamours, but it should cause the viewer a reaction, whether it be a wow factor or something deeper. I want my work to make people think.
