I taught myself the craft of stained-glass construction in the 1970's in San Francisco. I produced Tiffany style lamp shades and Art Nouveau/Art Deco windows to supplement my GI bill.
I went on to a career as an oncology pharmacist and palliative care provider, retired and then spent 12 years volunteering for medical missions around the world. When the covid pandemic struck, I set up a studio and went back to work constructing leaded glass windows. I spend a great deal of time composing my designs and choosing the right glass for each element. I enjoy juxtaposing colored glass with textured glass, stones and crystals.
I partner with the New Mexico Grief Center and normally donate 100% of my proceeds to them. For this exhibition, I am donating my portion of sales to the Grief Center while the NMCC Foundation receives 40% to support its patients.
