Barbara Marx has been residing in New Mexico since 2004 and introduced to painting in watercolor in 2018. In the subsequent years she has attended various classes followed by focusing on painting horses and florals while developing a keen desire to delve into portraiture of people and animals.
She has contributed to and participated in local artistic events including the New Mexico State Fair, and her paintings are found in private homes and businesses.
Barbara is a member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society and the Rio Rancho Art Association.
Artist Statement
I find the creation of watercolor paintings extremely satisfying to me. In addition, the stirring of an emotion within the viewer is icing on the cake.
My inspiration can be evoked by the vibrant colors, especially those of florals, or by my interpretation of a facial expression or the body language displayed by a person or animal.
